COMMISSION ON LEGISLATIVE REFORM IS A JOKE!

Well folks, you think you made a difference, during the last election? You think those idiots in Harrisburg got the message? Are you expecting things to change?

THINK AGAIN!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you could stand a better chance of getting struck by lightning, before there are any REAL changes in the way business is done by our esteemed State Legislature.

As some of you may know, but some may not, PA House Speaker Dennis O'Brien appointed a so-called Commission on Legislative Reform, presumably to make recommendations for changes in the way business is conducted by our Legislature.

For example: No votes could occur after 11 PM
Committee votes and testimony would be immediately available
online
Per diem expenses would have to be submitted within 90 days

Not bad--Right? Well don't get so excited just yet, because these and other recommendations are only applicable for the 2007-2008 Legislative Session. After that they just go away. This isn't only a joke, it is a slap in the face to every citizen of this Commonwealth who is tired of the shameless and arrogant business-as-usual attitude of our so-called leaders.

If these changes are NOT made permanent, then all the work done to unseat incumbents, and send the message that there needs to be REAL reform in Harrisburg was absolutely WASTED!

I would absolutely urge every Pennsylvania citizen who may read this posting, to contact their Legislators as soon as possible and DEMAND that the recommendations of the so-called Commission on Legislative Reform be MADE permanent. Anything less is simply UNACCEPTABLE!
