Federal Government is Out of Control

Give power back to the States

Is it irrepairable? Has the liberal school system, legal system and decades of democrat-controlled congress finally broken the spirit of the American people? I truly hope I am mistaken however it appears to be so.

The federal government is attempting and in some cases has already succeeded in positioning itself as a ruling party. Regardless of what party is in power it is up to the rank and file american to keep a constant vigil on the activities of this body and restrain it at every turn where it oversteps its authority. This was NOT the way it was intended!
For those of us who were fortunate to have had "American History" (I'm not sure what to call what is being taught today) and have learned what it was that the founding fathers as well as the generations following it had fought and died for, we understand and see clearly what they are trying to accomplish.
The United States of America - think about that term for just a second. While it is true that we are "one nation under God" - we are also a group of States who, in the declaration of independence and subsequently in the Constitution of the United Sates, granted LIMITED power to the creation of a Federal government for our overall protection.

Those who claim that the government does this to us, the government took that away from me... should feel ashamed. For the past generation at the least we have stood idolly by while the central government usurped more and more power away from the States. They have imposed taxes on us which are unconstitutional be their very nature...(we were dupped on that one...so much for a temporary revenue generator for the War).. they have stolen the power of judging morality from immorality and placed it in the hands of un-elected federal judges. They have crushed the independance of the states by not allowing them to pass laws which conflict with the Federal government, subsequently placing each of us under direct rule.

It is time for a bloodless revolution in the United States - in order to do so we must all take our civic responsibility extremely seriously. We must not only register to vote, we MUST VOTE. We must know what the people who are running represent and we must no longer feel comfortable taking the "Lessor of two evils" as our selection. Get involved, locally in your state and in our Country. Voice your position loudly with like-minded individuals, let us take back this country from the liberal elitists while it is still time.

Where have you heard or read my stance in any way on the Patriot Act?

I am not a supporter of the administration's position on this subject. I personally do not feel my civil liberties are being violated in the least however simply because I am being checked for weapons getting on a plane.

NOW BEFORE YOU JUMP DOWN MY THROAT -
I realize that the Patriot act also enables profiling and systematic pre-identification which I am totally against.

But lets not be naive here - our federal government has been doing such things in covert ways for decades - so don't get your panties in an uproar simply with this administration -

Our State Government is out of control--Our Federal Government is out of control! Sounds to me like a train wreck just waiting to happen. I particularly liked your observation that "we must take our civic responsibility extremely seriously," and that "we must know what the people who are running represent. . ." The latter statement, by definition describes a Republic, which is what the United States is-well at least for the present.

Well done, my friend. It is amazing how much alike we think.

Sorry - I'll refrain from underware references altogether :)

It's a "sensitive" subject for some
