Today is Mother’s Day.I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all Mothers who have dedicated 100 percent of themselves to the nurturing and wellbeing of their children. It is to these individuals that we owe a debt of gratitude.
Until recent generations, motherhood was looked upon as a pinnacle of achievement for most young women. Dedication to the formation of her family’s values, running a smooth household, keeping a clean homestead, these were all sufficiently satisfying objectives.
While times have changed and different challenges have befallen our young American families, one thing is evident. There is a direct relationship between the number of stay-at-home mothers (or fathers) and the attitudes, behavior deficiencies and social inadequacies in our children. Scores of children remain unattended or poorly attended after school and on weekends while their parents (or most times Parent singular) are working.
We as a nation spend enormous amounts of money in the protection of our country. To me the degradation of the American family is one of the biggest threats to our way of life. It is evident in the lack of work ethic of young adults, children’s attitudes and behavior in our communities, and their ever-increasing dependence on drugs and alcohol.
We provide tuition tax credits for teachers who volunteer to teach in hard to staff districts, we provide College tuition vouchers for those military recruits to improve the numbers available to protect us. It is high time that we provide a financial valuation for those mothers who have give up a profession and sometimes, a much-needed second income, for the success and the wellbeing of their children.
Support a national tax credit for stay at home moms (or dads) which will allow more Mothers to be the consistent voice in their children’s lives when they need it most. Help them to be available for their children without having to make a choice between the welfare of their kids and paying the mortgage.

You GO Conservative--This sounds like one I would have written. No wonder "realist" says we sound so much alike. I guess what they say about great minds is true after all. I must admit however, I never thought about tax credits for stay at home moms or dads, but it actually makes sense. Again Great Job!
My only problem would be where th money would come from to fund such a tax credit.
If we can find $800 Billion for economic relief for other countries - we can find money to fund this.
