AP is reporting that leaders of the Squirrel Council are circulating a petition on behalf of "Squirrel Worshippers" for the removal of all automobiles from american roads. Steve Taillover, Bishop of nuttany speaking from the Council of Limb stated "It is offensive to all Squirrelites to have so many of our prophets exterminated by these demons of the highway. We will not stop until this evil is vanquished!"
The ACLU has promised to take up the cause late Wednesday citing case law that supports the argument that Squirrels are protected by the Privacy rights set forth in the constitution. Howard Dean commented that Squirrelite Cardinals deserve special consideration since they have been strong supporters of the democratic party and contribute immensely to interstate commerce. If we go to that isolationist economic concept Shafter suggested, we won't have enough gas to drive a car. Then both the isolationists and the squirrel council would be happy!
