ROAD RAGE LEGISLATION????? (Can We Say Very Very Sad?)

http://local.lancasteronline.com/6/15338

OK Folks--Please see the above link for the details on the subject of this post. This is something I never thought I would be addressing through this site, but in all honesty this is one sad scenario for our so-called society when there needs to be legislation introduced because certain people act like a bunch of jacka##es when then take the wheel of their car.

Throughout the country as well as in Pennsylvania the ability to drive is a privilege NOT a right, and if the privilege is abused it can be lost--pure and simple. One would think that would be sufficient motivation for motorists to behave themselves when they're on the highways, but apparently this is not the case. The introduction of this legislation in Harrisburg speaks volumes to one inescapable conclusion: IF WE CAN'T CONTROL OUR OWN BEHAVIOR , THE GOVERNMENT WILL ATTEMPT TO DO IT FOR YOU!!!

It's amazing that otherwise calm and rational people go nuts if you slow them down 20 seconds in their car. Take your time and keep your distance people.

EXCELLENT POINT!!!

Maybe we could get Senator Rick to propose a law about this. He could make it an amendment to the Puppy Mill Bill. He seems to want to get the Federal Government involved in areas that were always the states responsibility.

I would like to see an amendment to the constitution or should I say a continuation since it is already there... that no law can be passed that would limit a state's right to regulate its own citizens. The federal government has usurped extremely way too much power. As written in the constitution, the federal government has no more power than the States' grant it!

You're right PA-State's Rights is already part of the Constitution, but you are only partialy right about the usurpation of powers by the federal government. They have usurped the power because WE allowed them to because of our own inaction and complacency. We really need to study what our Founding Fathers said all those years ago, and then get back to the original intent they laid down. It really will work if we let it.

I miss the Republican Party I grew up with. You remember them. Balanced budgets, not loading the states with unfunded mandates and keeping the government out of your life as much as possible.

Yes-I do. Do you have any idea where they went??? (Does that mean I'm getting OLD?--LOL)

I know where they went... they became the Constitution Party!. www.constitutionparty.com

DB - Exactly my point - the constituion grants only such powers to the Feds as we GIVE them. The problem is, since they don't teach HISTORY in school any more our population has no clue that they are doing it.

PA, Be reasonable. How can they find the time to teach things like history and math ? They stick to important topics like ethnic sensitivity and HIV awareness.

Oh my gort- do I detect a bit of a sarcastic streak here? You're my type of person. (ha ha) But seriously PA's comment sounded perfectly reasonable to me, because our public schools tend to teach the "revised" version of American History, rather than the "actual" history of this country that developed 229 years ago by our Founding Fathers. They didn't know from such things as sensitivity training, tolerance, and HIV awareness. They were more concerned with individual freedoms, providing for the common defense, and reliance on God to provide for our needs. This is a large part of the reason why this country is in the sad state of affairs we are in today.

Oh how could I be so insensitive... :-( - LOL

Shame on you PA. (ha ha)
