In the past, I've been criticized for my apparent lack of compassion and hard-line positions on various issues, but it is not wrong to take a strong stand and to ask difficult questions, especially of those who are given the authority to lead this great Nation. Indeed it is our responsibility as citizens of the United States to hold our leaders to a higher standard of accountability, because the decisions they make will have long lasting effects on us all.
Prior to and even subsequent to the confirmation of John Roberts as Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court, the President maintained his position that he would nominate a individual that was in the mold of Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas,to succeed retireing Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, and the American People took him at his word. However this is NOT what we got. What we got, instead was a person with no mold--no pattern--NOTHING that would give the slightest insight into her judicial temperment and philosophy. This does not bode well for the creditability of the President, nor does it instill a sense of confidence in the American People that the he will keep his commitment and appoint a strict constructionist to the Highest Court of our Land.
So, the obvious and perhaps logical question is: OK, MR. PRESIDENT--WHAT DO YOU DO NOW???? THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WILL BE WAITING FOR YOUR ANSWER.

yeah squirrel... I forgot everything is a coverup right? -
And I thought Nixon was parinoid--We don't need to look for conspiracies around every corner. BTW: If Republicans cannot be trusted--are you suggesting that you'd trust a Democrat? Say it's not so Squirrel?
I'm not sure whose more screwed up--YOU OR ME!
You are such a fool Squirrel.
Let me define a woman's right to choose for you...
She has the right to chose NOT TO have SEX! - That is her right and one which I will defend with my life. She has the choice not to get pregnant period. No one has the right to force you to have sex and get pregnant!
Once you've CHOSEN to have sex you've made your CHOICE!
As far as the other points brought up by Concerned, I can't argue with either of you because I frankly believe that NEITHER PARTY has done jack Sh_t in promoting the best for the American people.
My single solitary concern with this or any future administration is that it protect the lives of the most innocent amoung us. The life of the unborn person.
OK - Learn to read:

Hey ASSHOLE (I'm sorry did I type that outloud)- If you read the last sentence of my original comment you'll see that you're the one showing your ignorance.
I will quote one more time for you.."No one has the right to force you to have sex and get pregnant!"
It kind of goes without saying that that is rape.. Anyone who read that statement and concluded that a person raped has the ability to make a choice - should not be allowed to think.
This debate has gotten way out of control. I thought the name-calling was viewed as inappropriate content, and that ALL COMMENTERS should keep to the facts of the original posting. If this blog site is to have any measurable impact then we must not allow our emotions or anger to cloud our judgments, just because others may take a different point of view than we do.
I agree completely but I also think that posters should intelligently read the posts as well and not gleam what thoughts that are not there or bastardize them to their own agenda.
I could not agree more--but you know as well as I do that most folks see and hear just what they want at any given time--but WE are supposed to be above their petty nonsense!
Point taken
You're sick
I was thinking more along the lines of vulgar.
That was so profound...
Correct to whom squirrel? Obviously your interpretation is subjective, not to mention flawed.
