ANOTHER FILIBUSTER???-SAY IT AIN'T SO???

In the words of my favorite local radio-talk show host--"Give me a physical break!!" The confirmation hearings on Samuel Alito to succeed Sandra Day O'Connor have not even begun and already there is talk of a possible filibuster because his views on abortion.

Haven't we seen far too much of this kind of partisan nonsense?? Why is it that conservative Judicial nominees are not given the same consideration that liberal ones receive?

We heard the same rumblings during the debate on the nomination of John Roberts to become Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, but thankfully no filibuster materialized.

I guess I'm getting more cynical as I get older, but from where I sit it appears that the Liberal Democrats are having one big temper tantrum, unfortunately they are embarrassing more than themselves, which they do quite regularly, by the way, they are embarrassing the entire country.

When the confirmation hearings begin in January, we will once again be subjected to more of Chuck Schumer's "ideologue rhetoric," Pat Leahy's pre-judging of hypothetical cases, and the useless ruminations of Senators Biden, Kennedy and Feinstine, and in the process, the Members of the Senate Judiciary Committee will miss the point that Samuel Alito is a distinguished and qualified Judge, and is more than worthy to serve on the Supreme Court of the United States, his conservative ideology notwithstanding.

Let's get off the dime and give Judge Samuel Alito a prompt and fair up or down vote.
