Stating the matter quite bluntly, this is a debate that should not even be taking place but apparently it is one that is desparately overdue.
As I stated in a previous posting, America is a melting pot of cultures, but does this mean that we must translate every piece of information to accomodate those individuals who have come to our shores in search of a better life? Certainly NOT!
It is one thing for someone to come to America "temporarily," visiting family or for some other pupose. If necessary translator services can easily be provided, but if you are coming to these shores with the intention to make this Country your "new" home, to make your living here and support your family here, then you MUST learn our language--AND THAT LANGUAGE IS ENGLISH!!

Yes they are In OUR Country. Until they are sworn in as citizens of the United States they are "GUESTS" only and guests must go home! - You must accept our laws, our society, our customs and everything else. You don't get to stay here and enjoy our lifestyle without paying your fair share! - Get over it. Sign on or get out
OK ntwt, I give you one thing--when you're right you're right-the US has never had an official language, and maybe if we had I and others wouldn't have to put up with the idiotic rantings of an individual who thinks we should translate every piece of information into 1000 different languages just to accomodate people who are just too damn lazy to learn the language of America, which is ENGLISH.
And for your information, I have every right to get up on my high horse and demand that our politicians in Washington address this problem. That is one of the privileges of being an AMERICAN CITIZEN. I guess no one ever informed you of that fact.
And a "note" to PA--those who are in this country "legally" are "guests" the others are illegals and should be sent back to where ever it is they came from.
Those who can't speak English, learn it. You're right there should be programs that aide in learning the language...that being said I don't see people marching in the street with their Mexican flags because they can't find a linguistic class.
Your confusing my opposition with illegals taking full advantage of all the benefits of being here free of any emcumbrances with the need to help others - NOT EVEN Close to a valid argument.
Firstly, I didn't say anything at all about translation of language Mr. ntwt6oz so please make sure you know to whom your ranting.
English is the accepted language in the US. Do we have a societal obligation to help those who don't speak the language, no question. But we're talking about people who intend to set up a tent and stay. These are the individuals I am saying need to learn the language.
