Dave has been a contributing author to various political blogs in addition to being a founding and sustaining member of RCFA since its inception in 2005.

Warning: I am a Reagan republican. The GOP of today bares very little resemblence to my Republican party. So stop believing that what you say is always RIGHT just because the GOP says it's so. Sheep are cute animals but they will follow any voice that is familiar to them simply because it is safe & familiar.

The Missle Crisis of 1962 was considerably different that the situation in Iran today, but no more frightening, however our weapons are more sophisticated and deadlier. This is even more of a reason why we should NOT even think about using "nukes" on Iran!
OK DB let me be devil's advocate for a moment.
If we are certain (now I mean certain not "pretty certain" as we were with the WMD's in Iraq and we know how that turned out LOL) that Iran is pursuing "the bomb" what do we do? - Do we?
A) sanction them economically? - what good would that do - it's worked so well in the past (look at Cuba)
B) yell "Stop, or I'll say Stop again" - Our size and position in the world doesn't really do it with Iran does it?
C) run in, all guns blazing and start WW3 in the middle of a hotbed of tension and crossfire as it is?
D) - Take them out in one fell swoop using tactical "nukes" and leave no stone unturned in doing so?
E) - Do what we did in WW2, sit back and wait to see what comes out of it and ultimately face the possibility (probability) of a catastrophy of a size that makes 9-11 look like a blip on the radar screen of our history?
I know, your sitting there like I am right now thinking - none of those options are .... selectable.
OK PA, I've been trying to respond to your comment for several days now, and finally I have a few minutes to do so. I'll try to explore each of your "options" as you listed them.
A) would seem to be a joke. Our so-called quarentine of Cuba in 1962 was a dismal failure. In retrospect I have to wonder if JFK would actually have struck and invaded Cuba?
B)I don't even know if I should comment here because it is so ludicrous.
C)This is a "no-option" option, because we know where it ends--BADLY for the entire world!
D) Falls into the same area as C)No option here, besides there are actually innocent folks in Iran who are not part of this manical regieme. We must consider them in this equation.
E) Also is a Non-option, because to wait and see only invites another invasion/attack on our soil only 100 times worse than 9/11.
Lets make it easier. Lets level all of the middle east except for Israel, I wouldn't mess with Gods chosen people or his chosen land. Just listen to Pat Robertson on that.
