Conscientious Objector? or Just a Woosie

I respect the opinion of those who feel strongly that war is wrong. There are understandable personal, moral and religious reasons for most person's decision to file for conscientious objector status (The feeling that ALL WAR is wrong). Then there is 1st Lt. Ehren Watada. He feels only the war in Iraq is wrong. Afghanistan? that ones fine send him there, he claims.

"It is my duty as a commissioned officer of the United States Army to speak out against grave injustices". Oh yeah, and maybe it will save my ass from having to serve too. This GI-Josephine isn't against the war, he just now has to deploy to Iraq and all of a sudden it is wrong! - Just say what you really mean Ehren, I'm scared and don't want to go. That, everyone could understand and empathize with.

I am in agreement with one thing that this commissioned US Army lieutenant has eluded to (albeit not for the same reason) and that is that this should not be referred to as a "war". We have not officially or properly declared war on anyone since World War II. Not in Korea, Vietnam, Bosnia or in Iraq either time did the United States Congress issue a declaration which is required by our constitution. These "wars" while not technically illegal do contradict the laws of the US by allowing one person (the President) the ability to take our country to hostilities against another country.

I personally feel that this lieutenant is more or less shirking his duty and should be prosecuted. My advise... Ehren buck it up and do your duty.. this rouse of objection is bogus
