If the Protection of Marriage Amendment fails to pass the Senate this week you can blame primarily Republicans not Democrats for its demise. At current count there are 52 yea votes for the measure (60 needed to send it to the House) and while there are democrats touting loudly their discontent about the measure there are about a half dozen REPUBLICAN Senators who are breaking ranks and voting no. Let me highlight who they are in bold
Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz
Sens. Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island,
Susan Collins of Maine
Olympia Snowe of Maine
Sen. John Sununu of New Hampshire.
Of them, Mr. McCain of Arizona pretends he is a viable candidate for President in 2008 - give me a break. He is no conservative for sure and its debatable that his political leanings truly put him in the Republican category. He is entrenched in concrete with the current political establishment in Washington and needs to be retired for good.
The radical homosexual agenda is at its peak, and trending downward. 70 percent of the American people believe that civil unions should be acceptable to homosexuals as a method of gaining civil benefits for their "significant other". Redefining (bastardizing) Marriage will only cause even more harm to the moral fiber of the
American family.
45 of 50 states including 17 with constitutional amendments have legally defined marriage as "between a man and a woman". Liberals long realized they cannot succeed with their agenda through the proper democratic avenues so they press activist judges to circumvent the process.
People of Arizona, Rhode Island, Maine and New Hampshire send an email, make a phone call - hell stop by,... your Senator's offices and tell them get on board or start looking for new jobs.
