"You can’t go into a 7-Eleven or into a Dunkin Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I’m not joking.” – Democratic Presidential Candidate Joe Biden.
July 6, 2006
Far be it from me to openly agree with a democrat on anything (that is just a joke really) but the comment made by Joe Biden (announced candidate for the Democratic party presidential nomination) is right on the mark. Albeit a fairly relaxed comment for Mr. Biden (usually parcing every single statement to assure political correctness), it is a fact that a majority of these establishments are run by barely english-speaking people.
This "Biden Challenge" issued by Raj Bhakta, candidate for US Congress in the Pennsylvania 13th is a thinly vailed ploy to increase his slight warchest. He invites you to send $7.11 to his campaign to fight what he feels in an injustice by Mr. Biden's comment. This has more to do with creative financing than any mis-statements by Mr. Biden (there are so many others to pick on).
I, like many of you enjoyed Mr. Bhakta's antics on "The Apprentice" but my advice is to stick to the issues of the people of Pennsylvania specifically Raj, you'll be more effective than in using these amateur-ish political games.
