In a few short days, February 10th, the Republican State Committee will gather to vote on which candidates to endorse for the judicial races.
Last Spring, caring citizens all over Pennsylvania voted in good faith for State Committee Members from their county. State Committee Members have researched, spoken with and met with these candidates to make their decisions. Although it looks to many like all members go along and mindlessly do whatever they are told by leadership; that is not the case.
What I am about to say will not shock you; after all, we are talking about politics. To have our voice heard is difficult. Leadership from each caucus wants the candidate from their caucus to win. They claim it will "give us a bigger voice" on the State Committee. “If you vote for our candidate, we will vote for your candidate,” is presently being discussed between caucus leaders. An attempt will be made to convince the entire caucus to vote accordingly. So by the time it is all said and done, one candidate who may have received many votes in both of these caucuses can consequently be shut out. The best candidate can easily have the majority of their votes dealt away in such an arrangement--thereby costing them the endorsement of the State Committee.
Voter, if the best judicial candidate is not from your region, do you care? I think not! I know I don’t! The voters want the best judges to represent our party. To do this, the individual votes should not be hindered.
There are other ways our voices are silenced. There was only one candidate for Chairman and Vice Chairman in the last change in leadership. I am not saying that these are not capable people, but am merely stating that no choices were given and that is no coincidence.
There are a few of us doing our best for voters. As you know, leadership doesn't always know best. So please be diligent during this judicial race and aware of the qualifications of the individual candidates. Make sure the endorsed candidates are truly the best candidates and make your voice heard in the Primary Election! Thank you.

First of all Welcome to 2tellthetruth. It is a pleasure to have you in our "never to be humble" ranks.
Second, your style of writing is not dissimilar to my own or that of the moderator of this blog, which puts you in quite elite company.
Third your views state very clearly that the electorate must keep informed about all candidates to whatever office they may be seeking, whether it is in party leadership, judge, state representative, senator or governor. This is the hallmark of the Republic in which we live, although I would suggest that it is in serious jeopardy of being lost, if we don't soon wake up.
At any rate, your opinions are thoughtfull, intelligent and well presented, and I look forward to other submissions. Again WELCOME!
