The Federal Indictment against State Senator Vincent Fumo of Philadelphia was posted courtesy of our friends at PaCleanSweep, but as usual I have a few comments and questions to add to this unfolding "story."
Without counting all the charges I counted 122 counts of conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and obstruction of justice. I am forced to wonder why this man is still in office??
Stating my feeling quite bluntly, which is the only way I know, by the way, if a private citizen were charged with one-tenth of the indicated offenses, they would be in jail and not enjoying the benefits and power of an influencial politician.
If the implications weren't so serious, I might find them laughable. Nevertheless it is just one more example of why the way business is done in Harrisburg MUST BE CHANGED---AND CHANGED VERY SOON!!

Folks I believe the time has come. If we want a truly free and democratic Pennsylvania again, it is time that the citizens take the capital back. So there is no confusion... I am advocating actually taking the capital physically. (however I am not advocating violence). We own the place, maybe it's pollyanna'ish but we simply go down there and tell them to leave :)LOL ha ha ha ha ... crap sorry even I had to chuckle at that one!.. Seriously though I am suggesting that the voters stop being voters (we've seen how much they respect that) and become repo-ers. Let's show up on the doorstep of the capital and "nicely" tell them to leave. They've been FIRED!
Novel approach, CV although a bit unrealistic. But as I recall when I was starting my rather undistinguished career with State Government, two members of the Senate and a Speaker of the House of Representatives were expelled, so the question persists. If nothing else, Fumo's actions warrants that he be impeached and removed from office.
BTW-CV--How's your Italian?? Well just in case it's a bit rusty--FUMO in English translates to SMOKE!!!
Sounds rather appropriate--wouldn't you agree??
very... in addition I think his middle name is Miraro which in English is mirror.. so we got what we paid for...
Smoke and mirror(s)
Good one CV--I didn't know about the middle name!!
