In a letter to both House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, President Bush made it clear that he will VETO any legislation sent to him, by the Congress that weakens current federal policies on abortion and abortion funding.
The President said: "I believe it is the most basic duty of Government, to guard the innocent. With that in mind, I will veto any legislation that weakens current federal policies and laws on abortion, or that encourages the destruction of human life at any stage."
I believe this is as clear as it gets. I applaud President Bush for taking this courageous stand in defense of human life.
