I read this letter the Hanover Evening Sun today which I felt deserved some further discussion. I can't agree more with Mr. Moore. I'm still waiting for that flood of people to overflow my email with volunteers to "vote em all out", they keep getting elected for a reason Bill, we allow it. But I'm with ya. We need patriots.
Many years ago my father told me to think of the government both federal, state and local as working for the people of the United States. Just what do we have today? We have four cities close to us, Washington, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Boston, will have over a thousand murders for 2007. We have terrorists who threaten to destroy us. We have drugs all over the United States, about 12 million to 15 million illegal aliens in our country and still more crossing our borders every day.
There are more people in our prisons than ever before. So just what is our government doing for us? Both Democrat and Republican care more about being re-elected than enforcing our laws. I wonder what kind of deal the president made with President Fox of Mexico not to seal our borders?
When our country was formed, it was done by statesmen. Today it seems like all we have are career politicians who, if allowed, spend their whole lives in office milking the taxpayers for all they can.
So does our government really look out for us? The Democrats finally control the House of Representatives and Senate. So what have they done, besides changing some post office names, and all up in the air, why the president fired lawyers. That, plus many of our senators are busy running for president. Maybe it's time to replace them all by voting them out and replacing them, people who aren't obliged to trail lawyers and lobbyists, but obliged to the American people, wouldn't that be a great change.
