Polka Bill: Critical to PA Survival

This is preposterous. Even the person least interested in the politics of Pennsylvania must find this one irritating. I know there are more pressing problems than this for our state reps to be thinking about ....

Polka Hall of Famer Jolly Joe Timmer for years has tried to convince
the state legislature to recognize polka as a symbol of Pennsylvania.
But the state senators and representatives keep dancing around it.

Another bill that would make polka either Pennsylvania's official
folk music or dance is before the state legislature. Since 2001, six
bills like it -- four in the House and two in the Senate -- have been
introduced.

GIVE ME A BREAK!

Personally, Dan, I like Polkas, but I agree completely there are far more important matters to occupy the thoughts of our State Legislators, like abolishing the outrageous School Property Tax, and making sure that the out of control School Boards across Pennsylvania are stripped of their taxing authority--they should never should have been given such power in the first place!

Wow! They really know how to dance around the issues. I wish the legislators were polkaholics instead of spendaholics.
