HOUSE BILL 1275--A WOLF IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING!!

Our "friends" at the Pennsylvania Taxpayer Cyber Coalition is touting HB 1275 as the "greatest thing since sliced bread." It's going to cure all the ills associated with the ongoing debate over property tax reform, but what they have not told the people of Pennsylvania, but what the "linked" House Roll Call vote from January 29, 2008 shows clearly is that the language of the "bill" was rejected by an almost 4 to 1 margin. And when one takes the time to look at the legislation, it is not hard to figure out why that happened. I'm wondering if it was the half-dozen or so TAXES that were discussed in the text of the bill. For example: A personal income tax, a sales and use tax, a hotel and occupancy tax, an education tax, a state reality transfer tax, and an earned income tax. It's no great surprise that the vote was so one-sided. Even the Democrats saw through this pile of Bull.

Like the old Wendy's hamburger commercials used to say--WHERE'S THE BEEF?? my question here is--WHERE'S THE REFORM???

House Bill 1275 represents nothing more than the RAPING of the People of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

The People of Pennsylvania need to stand up and say very loudly that they want REAL & FAIR property tax reform, and the first way this begins is by stripping every PA School Board of their taxing authority. This is a train that has been running out of control for too many years and needs to be derailed.

PTCC is right about one thing when they say that HB 1275 is not a Holy Grail as far as so-called tax reform is concerned--IT'S AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE!
