I have to admit; I must now know what Michelle Obama was referring to
when she said that "for the first time in her adult life she was proud
of America". As it turns out for the first time in my entire life I
am ASHAMED to associate myself with what this country is about.
We have abandoned our place in the world. We no longer feel it
necessary to rebuke the wrongs of the world but rather entertain and
associate a complacency with those who are evil. ("Keep bowing Mr.
President, remember it was the Saudis and the Aphghanis that harbored
our enemies")
We have abandoned our responsibility to the next generation both
morally and fiscally. Together with our abhorent financial policy; we
have begun a path for our children that is spiraling out of control.
Rather than teach why it is wrong to have sex before marriage; we look
to appease and enable the ease of their consciences. Rather than
teach conviction and pride in our religious heritage we allow societal
pressures to guide their hearts.
We have invited the worst element of our political society to be in
charge of our collective conscience and given them the "keys to the
city".
In this, the Christian Holy Week. Pray that we may all have the
conviction of the Apostles. Stand firm. Stand Resolute.
