After reading the short posting authored by the moderator of this Blog, along with an article in the Lancaster Intelligencer-Journal. I just couldn't resist adding my two-cents for whatever it's worth.
I guess by changing parties Specter believes he will side track another election confrontation with Pat Toomey. So sorry Arlen, but you're only delaying the inevetiable, and let's not forget that Mr. Toomey almost took you out at your last meeting.
But let's be clear about Specter's motivitations, because he just trying to save his butt. "I'm not prepared to have my 29-year record in the United States Senate decided by the Pennsylvania Republican primary electorate." From where I sit, this is about as self-serving and arrogant as one so-called public servant can get.
Just one question Arlen: Just who was it that put you in the United States Senate in the first place, if it wasn't the Pennsylvania Republican ELECTORATE???
