House Conservatives Slam Immigration Bill
We are truly and undeniably the "Land of the Free and home of the Brave" but citizenship in this country is not a right unless you are born in this country. We were all immigrants at one time or another via our forefathers but the price of that citizenship was paid in blood. The severity of the price has lessoned considerably in todays age however it is still the same premise. If you want to work, live and enjoy the United States you apply and become a citizen of it and accept all rights and responsiblities. If not you may come and visit the US any time you want for short periods of time and then you MUST GO HOME.
Contrary to some, there are not jobs here that Americans can't do. There are jobs that American's don't want to do! I am in agreement with Rep. Dana Rohrabacher of California who said "I say let the prisoners pick the fruits". A guest worker program as promoted by President Bush is a receipe for DISASTER. If we truly want to secure our borders, then let's secure them. To quote one of our greatest Americans - "Trust, but verify" (Ronald Reagan). We already have the ability to allow our neighbors from the North and from the South the freedom to access our country to perform legitamate work, its called a VISA. This program needs to be reformed and will serve as the ticket for law abiding people from around the world to come into our country.
Protestors, get over it. Go home or apply for citizenship.
