OK folks let's look at how long our so-called Legislators actually spend in Harrisburg, doing the "people's business."
For the first part of the year (6 months) the House and Senate are in Session a total of 46 days.
For the last 6 months they are in Session for approximately 28 days. So let's do the math here-- 74 days for a salary of $81,000 per year. Not too bad for a "part-time job."
It also seems to be quite a political coup to tie a 16% pay raise to the State Budget. At least it gives the appearence that they had to vote for it, but that hasn't actually been the case for many years, and anybody who knows anything of the goings-on in Harrisburg, knows that's a fact.
ONCE AGAIN---THE PEOPLE OF PENNSYLVANIA GET THE BUSINESS!!!
And a footnote folks---This makes those knuckle-heads under the Dome the second highest paid Legislature in the country!! I know I feel a lot better--Don't you????

Pal unless I'm missing something, your disfunctions extend beyond the erectile..........
OK what does this have to do with the topic of the discussion?????
"we can learn again to argue without hate and separate the person from the position. It has to start somewhere....let's start here, now"
"knuckle-heads"...hmmmm...
to splitcat--First of all welcome. I don't recall having seen a comment from you on this site.
Second--I'm assuming that you are NOT from Pennsylvania, so please allow me to introduce you to the concept that the position makes the person, and in this case the term knuckle-head is most appropriate. 253 knuckle-heads to be exact, which is the compliment of the PA General Assembly. Any group of presumed intelligent people in a Legislative Body who cannot conduct themselves with decorum and respect when doing their "jobs" do not deserve to have those jobs, especially when the decisions they make have far reaching implications and consequences. Whether you approve of my "label" or not it is simply the reality of this situation. Besides who ever heard of being able to vote one's self a 16% pay raise for a glorified part-time job???--THIS IS ABSOLUTELY LUDICROUS!!!
