MORE ARROGANCE FROM OUR SO-CALLED "LEADERS"

Thumbs down: Jubelirer aide dismisses pay-raise opposition

A conservative group is fighting back against the generous pay raises that lawmakers gave themselves last month, buying advertisements that point out how much legislators are getting paid.

The first legislator to be targeted is the most powerful Republican in the state Senate, Robert Jubelirer, whose district includes Fulton County.

In typical "attack the messenger" mode, Jubelirer aide Mike Long said the group behind the ad, Young Conservatives of Pennsylvania, is doing something offensive. It's "absurd" for conservatives to be targeting Republicans, Long said, and "a stupid mission," according to capitolwire.com.

Long said the group "understands neither the history of this state nor the role that Sen. Jubelirer and Sen. (David) Brightbill have played in building the Republican majority."

What incumbent lawmakers — and apparent-ly their staffs — don't understand is the very real anger that Pennsylvanians feel when Jubelirer and his colleagues approve a 34% raise for him. It's fine for Long to point out the positive things that Jubelirer has done, but to belittle those who disagree shows an arrogance that will only fuel the outrage.

===================================================================
OFFENSIVE, ABSURD??? WHAT IS OFFENSIVE AND ABSURD, is the arrogance of our so-called Legislators who believe they are worth more than their position warrants.

WHAT IS OFFENSIVE AND ABSURD, is our so-called Leaders thumbing their collective noses at the Constitution of Pennsylvania, by opting for these "unvouchered expenses" which allows them to receive the actual amount of the "raise" during this calendar year. The Pennsylvania Constitution clearly states that a Legislators salary shall not be raised during the same Legislative Session.

WHAT IS OFFENSIVE AND ABSURD, is Legislators insulting constitutients when they voice their outrage to their greed. Whether or not an apology was given or even offered, the offense was taken and it should be remembered come next election, as should ALL citizens of Pennsylvania should remember those who voted for the raise and the "unvouchered expenses."

ONE PERSON CANNOT MAKE A DIFFERENCE--BUT MANY CAN!

Thanks for pointing out these lines. It just shows how destructive blind party loyalty has been to our country!

• It isn't absurd at all for conservatives to target liberals, and that's what most Republicans have become. It isn't absurd for conservatives to target greed, since that's contrary to conservative values.

• Who cares what anybody has done to build the Republican Party? If the resultant party is corrupt, it deserves to be undermined. That's how a republic is supposed to function!

I hope you and PA-Conservative will continue to call out the RINOs and seek to have them removed from office. Whether it encourages a moral transformation of the GOP, or encourages the election of a more moral party, the results will be critical for your state.

I will do my best, and I'm certain that PA will do his part as well. Thanks for the kind words.
