This evening the State Senate voted unanimously voted to repeal the full pay raise. NOW we wait to see if the House of Representatives will follow suit.
Excuse me if I'm more than a bit suspicious of the motivations, but from where I stand this is simply a lame attempt to save their jobs.
Quite frankly, our so-called leaders underestimated the backlash of the citizens Pennsylvania, and the consequences of their lapse in judgment and demonstration of greed will be felt, beginning on November 8, 2005 with a NO VOTE ON RETENTION FOR STATE SUPREME COURT JUSTICES SANDRA SCHULTZ NEWMAN AND RUSSELL NIGRO, and continuing next November.

Unless I missed something DB, the Senate didn't vote to repeal the pay raise.. they simply revoked the ability to take the unvouchered expense.
Originally it was to repeal only the unvouchered expenses, but later in the evening WGAL reported that the Senate voted to repeal the raise in its entirety.
