I was asked by the moderator of this blog-site, in a private conversation, what I thought of the President's speech on Iraq. After watching a webcast of this important address on C-SPAN, I have one thing to say:
RIGHT ON MR. PRESIDENT!!
I recall a speech, the late President John Kennedy gave on the Cuban Missile Crisis, and he said: "The cost of freedom is high, but Americans have always paid the price, and one path we will never choose is one of surrender or submission."
Kennedy also said: "ours is not the victory of might, but the vindication of right."
It seems somewhat strange that I would use the words of a Liberal Democratic President to voice my full and total support for President Bush's actions and decisions with respect to the war in Iraq. But those words that were spoken in 1962 are still true today.
The bottom line is this folks--If we don't fight the terrorists on their turf and soundly defeat them--we inevitably will fight them on American soil, but only after another horrific and devastating attack on our country.
In conclusion, I recall the words of Dr. David Jeremiah, the founder of Turning Point Ministries in San Diego, California, taken from his sermon "America's Emergency Call"---WE FIGHT THE ENEMY AND WE WIN!!
GOD BLESS THE PRESIDENT & GOD BLESS AMERICA.
