Battle Report

A few weeks ago I posted a Blog on the spiritual war. This blog is just an update on that war. The spiritual war can take many forms from a simple conversation about Christianity to a full battle with the devil himself. The church that I belong to and am a member of the board became one such battleground. A very good friend of mine and close ally to me became a casualty of this war though the self-promotion and self-desires of members of my church. He has been there many years before I came into the picture, and has seen much more than me. This blog is not intended to point fingers at what went wrong in my church. This blog is too short for that but I can tell you one thing some people in my church and in many others across the United States have made themselves the main focus and taken away God’s. We can’t afford to fight these battles in our churches and organizations. We need to focus on what the main purpose is: To give glory to God and to win souls to His side. So I’m issuing a challenge to everyone. We must put aside our pride and our self-glorification and stand up for the real reason that we are here. An army divided and unfocused is doomed to fall.

A,
Not completely sure what it is you are advocating we do or what it is that you feel is "made (making) themselves the main focus and taken away God's. It's a bit confusing..maybe you could clarify your argument.

PA--perhaps I can help clarify what Andy is trying to say. There are those individuals within the Churches, and ours is no different, who are "trumpeting" their own accomplishments, much like the Pharisies did in Jesus' day. They do not give God the glory and praise for what He does, but they attempt to take the credit for what was done, believing that it is pleasing to God in some way. What you and others need to do is to be aware of these people, because they are like a "wolf in the fold," and will soon devour whatever spirit that existed or may have existed in a particular church. For further clarification I refer you to the Book of Revelation and Paul's letters to the 7 Churches particularly the Church at Laodecia (the "lukewarm" church). Hope this was of some help.

An army divided will truly fall, no question, however a leadership who does not prompt and challenge is susceptible to corruption as well. It is needed to honestly challenge the people to believe what they profess and profess what they believe in their daily lives.

It is not enough to simply say you believe in Christ. Our country was founded on the ideal that actions and honor mean more than mear discussion. This is what is needed in today's leadership be it in our Churches or our Government
