I'm floating a proposal for the establishment of a new country here is it's constitution
Every individual has the freedom to worship whatever God they chose, however government shall pass no law prohibiting a group from expressing that religion in their daily lives, including the education of their children.
The country would be separated into autonomous states, each defining and ruling themselves but in which representatives of participate in a centralized government.
Each citizen of these states is bound by law to vote every three years on a representative who will be bound by law to defend the opinion of the simple majority of that state. The day set aside for this election would be a paid national holiday. Funding for this would be provided for as a line item in the federal budget.
The citizens of each state will also have the legal authority to remove a representative on demand of more than 75 percent majority. This would be accomplished by a special election, the date of which would be determined by the governor of the state. However, such an action should not be entertained lightly as an official group must initiate the action and should the effort not succeed in drafting the 75 percent, it would be required by law to reimburse the state for the costs of 1/3rd of the total election budget.
No government at the federal or state level would be authorized at any time to fund social initiatives. Only local governments would have the authority to enlist private sector, religious or other groups to assist in the welfare of its citizens.
Government would be barred from participating in governing of education. All authority on the education curriculum, financial or otherwise would be the sole authority of an established, locally elected school board.
... more to follow. (Sound familiar?)
