Bush - Just Another Politician

The commuting of the Lewis "Scooter" Libby sentence in the CIA leak case Monday displays a process of thinking that provides a reflection of GW that conservatives should be sickened over. Twice in a period of the last 30 days we have witnessed how powerful, "in the loop" people have manipulated the system to get out of jailtime. This one was even more obvious than the first and frankly more detrimental to our country.

Congress makes laws, Supreme Court interprets laws and the Executive Branch enforces them! That is all there is to it. Whether a line added to an executive order somewhere says he has the authority to do this or not, this action displays a willingness to repay favors and provide a safety net for those close to power.

Like many other people, I do not believe that what Libby did was any more eggregious than what congress does every other day, but the difference is that he was charged and brought before a court of his peers and they determined that he was guilty of a crime. Besides the appeals process that is written into our constitution that should be the end of it. No President, or any other elected position, should ever have the authority to reverse the Will of the People.

Mr. Bush has now made it even easier for liberal democrats to paint the republican party with a thick brush. He's given credence to their statements that he will do anything to keep things about him from coming to the light of day. I don't believe that so much as I believe that the people surrounding him have (from day 1) been giving him horrible and questionable counsel.

In one persons opinion, I will no longer defend this administration as they are not worth defending. So much for kindler and gentler, so much for a new tone in Washington...

In case you haven't seen, CV this debacle gets worse, because GW is considering a full pardon for "Scooter." This President has lost ALL my respect--Like you he just doesn't deserve it!
