As the field of "candidates" on the Republican side gets smaller, the title of this posting seems a logical question to ask. Of those remaining there's no one who even measures up to Thompson's conservative standards.
I recall when Fred Thompson announced he was going to run for President. He believed that the Federal Government did not have to solve every problem, that we needed to secure our borders, he had a professed belief in Almighty God, and believed we needed to protect the sacred institution of marriage. He held the traditional moral values many Americans claim to have, but rarely show. So the question persists--WAS FRED THOMPSON TOO CONSERVATIVE??
It is hard for this individual to believe that the American people are satisfied with maintaining the status quo, and continuing to choose the lesser of two evils, considering the absolute state of moral bankruptcy that is running rampant in this country. One has to wonder what it will take before folks wake up and realize that we need to get back on the track the Founding Fathers laid down for this Country over two centuries ago.
As I have said many times before, America has serious problems, and we need a serious and committed conservative candidate to begin the task of solving those problems--unfortunately that's NOT John McCain. Maybe, just maybe Mike Huckabee will fit that bill, but only time will answer that question.
