SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT (ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE A LEGISLATOR)

You know, the subject of Legislative pay raises has always been a sore spot with the people of Pennsylvania, but never has there been such a firestorm of protest and opposition as we are seeing to this latest act of unmitigated arrogance and greed as was demonstrated by our esteemed General Assembly, and of course let's not forget our illustrious Governor "Fast Eddie."

Here's an interesting scenario, that I think every Legislator or any elected official for that matter should be required to experience, before he or she assumes a high-ranking statewide office:

LIVE ONE YEAR ON A MINIMUM WAGE SALARY JOB. THAT IS PAY YOUR BILLS, BUY GROCERIES AND CLOTHES FOR YOUR FAMILY, PROVIDE FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT, WHEN NEEDED, PAY YOUR RENT OR MORTGAGE. IN SHORT PROVIDE ALL THE NECESSITIES THAT YOU ARE CURRENTLY BEING PROVIDED, AT THE EXPENSE OF THE TAXPAYERS OF THIS COMMONWEALTH, BASED PURELY ON THE AMOUNT OF MONEY YOU MAKE FROM A MINIMUM WAGE JOB!

If you do this, maybe you will be less arrogant MR/MRS/MS LEGISLATOR, and maybe you will begin to understand what the average family has to deal with day to day, and just maybe it will make you think twice about voting for another outrageous pay raise that you and everyone else knows YOU DON'T DESERVE!!

I SINCERELY HOPE YOU ARE PAYING ATTENTION, BECAUSE, I AM AND SO ARE THE REST OF THE VOTERS OF PENNSYLVANIA!!
