THE COUNTDOWN HAS BEGUN

According to PACleanSweep, it is now T-124 days and counting until the May 16th Primary Election in Pennsylvania. The struggle to bring accountability to Harrisburg is now in full swing.

The background goes something like this: On July 7, 2005, in the dead of night our esteemed Legislature voted themselves one of the most outrageous and unconstitutional pay raises ever known. This precipitated a firestorm of protest and opposition from the people of this Great Commonwealth, thereby forcing our so-called Leaders to repeal this exercise in pure greed and arrogance.

Now as we begin this new year, the citizens of Pennsylvania have a unique opportunity of reclaiming the power that is rightfuly theirs by unseating those incumbents who not only voted for the raise, but also accepted the "unvouchered expenses," which effectively circumvents the Constitutional prohibition on raising a Legislators salary during the same year.

As I have written many times before--The Government is answerable to the People, the People are NOT answerable to the Government.

The time is NOW for the citizens of Pennsylvania to make a solid statement and hold our politicians to a higher standard of accountability.
