Giuliani - Lightning won't be the only thing silencing you

From American Family:

Will Lightning Strike Twice for Giuliani? Radical secularists are no doubt becoming apoplectic with the prominent role that God and faith are playing in the presidential debates. In part this is a public pushback against those who steadily have been working to silence the public voices of Christians. I will readily admit that in some cases political figures lack real substance and commitment to the meanings of religious and morally-fraught speech. However, reestablishing the vocabulary is an important step. Rudy Giuliani was almost left speechless last night when lightning literally struck the building temporarily knocking out Giuliani's microphone as he was talking about the need to uphold "choice" on abortion. On stage, Giuliani chuckled and said, "For someone who went to parochial schools all their life, this is a very frightening thing." Mr. Mayor, you said it! In a profound way, however, it's amazing that religion-speak in our nation is such news. Sixty-three years ago today, the fear of God had certainly taken hold of America, as the allies stormed the beaches of Normandy for the D-Day invasion. President Franklin Roosevelt led the nation is appealing to God for help, as so many brave men laid down their lives to liberate France. He took to the airwaves without fear of political analysis or retribution, praying, "Almighty God... lead [our men] straight and true; give strength to their arms, stoutness to their hearts, and steadfastness in their faith... O Lord, give us faith... faith in Thee; faith in our sons; faith in each other; and faith in our united crusade... As we rise to each new day, and... when each day is spent, let the words of prayer be on our lips..."
GOD certainly has a way of speaking up when he so choses; Giuliani ... take notice will ya?
